My Collection ~ An Artist’s Oil Painting by Chang Ying-guang (張映光)
2 years ago, my daughter and I had traveled to Guilin, China, on the road I bought two oil paintings, by China artists Mr. Chang Ying-guang , one of them the theme is Children’s Faces of the Hmong, (苗族童顏) (40, 80 × 100 cm) and a house in the countryside (50 116.5 × 80 cm), equivalent to about NT $ 120,000, perhaps some body will felt expensive, but I do not think so, I had visited the art exhibition in Taiwan, many China artists, their work through gallery exhibits, prices increased many times.

The Children’s Faces of the Hmong, which painting is a little girl's face, I had relly liked it ,when I first sight to the oil painting, I was deeply attracted ,because the picture of the charm of small girls looks like my daughter, and light and shadow are painting very well, although some people had different evaluation to Chang Ying-guang, but something of art, appreciation the different perspective of each person. For instance Vincent Willem van Gogh painted more than 2000 paintings during his lifetime, but just only to sold a painting, Who will guessed that at the time, following his death, his paintings would have such a big impact the arts community?
